In the US last night, the Dow gained 273 points at 10,173, the Nasdaq Composite rose 60 points at 2,219 and the S&P500 climbed 31 points at 1,087. In Asia today, the Nikkei was up 157.22 points at 9,699.87, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 278.43 points at 19,911. Crude oil traded at $75.21 a barrel on Nymex while gold settled at $1,219 an ounce.
