Hydro International, the manufacturer of storm and waste water control/treatment products, announced that it has won two significant contracts worth c. £5 million in aggregate.

First, the UK Wastewater division secured a £3.5 million deal with Tamesis (a JV between Laing O'Rourke and Imtech Process Ltd.) to install its Zickert Sludge Scraper in the Crossness Sewage Treatment Works in East London. Tamesis is managing a major upgrade of the Crossness plant (which currently serves about two million Londoners). When completed, it will be able to handle 44% more sewage, which will reduce overflow during heavy rainfall.

Second, the US Waterwater division won a $2.7 million contract for two 44ft diameter Storm King wastewater separator systems from the City of Boonville, Indiana. The Storm King system has reliability and cost advantages over conventional systems because it has no moving parts and does not require electrical power to operate.
