Lo-Q, the company that supplies “virtual queue” management systems for the amusement and water park industries, announced that a smartphone-based ticketing and queuing solution is to be pilot tested at The London Eye. The test period is from 1st December 2011 to 25th February 2012.

The solution (which enables visitors to by-pass the ticket office) is cloud based and is applicable to any type of attraction, rather than being restricted to theme parks.

The company also announced in an update regarding the final results to October 2011 that strong growth in sales, pre-tax profit and net cash has been delivered, marginally ahead of previous expectations. Average guest spend on Lo-Q products grew 17% and park attendees using Lo-Q products grew 9%, against the backdrop of a 3% decline in like-for-like park attendances. Q-band (the system for water parks) has returned impressive initial results from its first trial at a major North American site.

The LOQ share price has increased by 70% over the last year.
