Introduction

On Saturday 30th April 2016, I attended the UK Investor Show 2016. This was an all day event was held in the QEII Centre, Westminster, London.Image and video hosting by TinyPic  It was organised by the infamous Tom Winnifrith and the team at ShareProphets.  This event was also planned during the bank holiday Monday weekend and therefore was a perfect opportunity to spend a long weekend down in London.   However I should know by now that travelling down to London the day before and staying in The Grosvenor Hotel for an good early night wouldn't work out.  A visit to SoHo and in particular Compton Street ensured an excellent night but hardly any sleep and turning up to the show feeling (and looking) really rough!

Last week I said the Master Investor Show was the best investing day out due to meeting many of my twitter friends.   However I will say now UK Investing Show ended up being the better of the two shows by a mile.  What a difference a week makes!

Initial Reasons for Attending

There was a few speakers that certainly attracted my attention.  Mark Slater of Slater Investments, Simon Cawkwell (Evil Knievel), Ed Croft of Stockopedia and finally I wanted to meet and hear from the man we all love to hate Tom Winnifrith.   I also purchased a GOLD Ticket so that I hoped for the best experience possible.   With regards to the exhibits     most appeared to the junior, resources, O&G stocks that I weren't interested in, however I did spot a few of interest.

The QEII Centre.

The QE Centre is situated across from Parliament Square, close to Palace of Westminster, West Minster Abbey and with views of Big Ben, and on a beautifully sunny day it was almost picture perfect.
