The results of the Opec informal meeting yesterday has given the market a lot to think about! Not least the impact of the oil price on oil stocks....

For the October 2016 “>20%” monthly oil stock competition, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock.

The deadline for the October competition is midnight on Sunday 2 October 2016.

>20% Up: Ophr. LNG market could turn more positive as oil price increases.
>20% Down: Bpc. Current market cap of £16MM. Could be years before any exploration drilling commences. Only $2.4MM cash left as of end June 2016. Expected $1.5MM left by end of 2016. At this rate, zero cash left at some point in Q4 2017 if nothing is done financially.

Rare for an oil investment company to win the >20% Up competition. Congrats to Ccr1958 for picking PXOG, formerly Premier Gold, which went up the most by 25% for October. Exploration drilling in Poland is still expected in Q4 this year.

Restructuring at GKP has caused its' share price to drop 41% in October. Congrats to Golfhelicopter12, Eastheath and Sorcery for anticipating the restructuring impact.
