Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good RNS alerts service? I was using rnsalert.com but they seem to have stopped adding new shares and when I emailed them to request adding them my email bounces back! Hopefully this doesn't break any stockopedia editorial rules by discussing other services. I also tried using the londonstockexchange email service but that doesn't seem to work properly. Ideas appreciated!

I use Investegate.co.uk with the main LSE site as a back up on the odd occasion when this doesn't work. Easy to use and comprehensive for all UK RNS releases. You can set up an alerts list of companies that emails you when an RNS is released and it is free. Requires creating a private investor online account but so far as I can tell it hasn't spawned much in the way of junk mail. I have a list set up with about 150 stocks on it and typically receive the main dump of the day within about 10-15 minutes of the main 7.00am release. I've been using it for about 18 months now and happy with the service,

I use Investegate but I don't bother with a personalised list. I look at the entire daily newsflow every morning at 7. The advantage of doing this vs just looking at a watchlist/subset is that it throws up new ideas, sector relevant news and read across thoughts rather than just news about pre-determined selections. Does not take long to scan the 7am releases.

Apart from Investegate which has already been mentioned and is widely used by Private investors, I also use Morningstar see - http://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/collection/2-2001/all-regulatory-news.aspx
While it is not the easiest site in the world to navigate it does have a few categories like Company RNS & Earnings News etc. which you can select.
The main advantage of this service is the e-mail alerts which you can get if you sign up for a free account. These come through with the whole announcement in the e-mail rather than having to click on a link. I find this quite useful when out and about on a a phone. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue with londonstockexchange, it previously worked really well but I'm not receiving any notifications anymore. Sometimes I will receive an e-mail but it's usually 3+ days after the RNS was released. I'm actually quite happy to hear that you've been having the same issues as me, I thought that it might have just been a problem specific to my e-mail account as no one else seemed to be having the same problem when I've asked about!

I have used Investegate for about 18 months, generally ok but last year kept send me the wrong companies, seems some of their tickers got mixed up, also some were sent out late. Larger companies I don't bother with notifications, as there are too many that I'm not interested in.

I use advfn (for my sins), mainly because there is an automatic Tweet function. Generally they are very reliable and timely.

Stock Market Wire is worth a look. Provides some fairly detailed overviews on company news and other general market information. Easy to navigate through.
