Good morning!

I have this evening been informed by the agent, that this area in Paxos will not have electricity in the morning. Therefore I am putting up this short message to apologise in advance for the absence of a SCVR for 13 Aug 2014. I had allocated a few hours in the morning to write the report, and then have booked another boat trip for the afternoon, to visit Antipaxos, and the blue caves.

Therefore without any internet in the morning, I won't be able to write a report. Sorry about that. So I'm having an enforced day off!

I trained as an accountant with a Top 5 firm, but that was so boring that I spent too much time in the 1990s being a disco bunny, and busting moves on the dancefloor, and chilling out with mates back at either my house or theirs, and having a lot of fun!Then spent 8 years as FD for a ladieswear retail chain called "Pilot", leaving on great terms in 2002 - having been a key player in growing the business 10 fold. If the truth be told, I partied pretty hard at the weekends too, so bank reconciliations on Monday mornings were more luck than judgement!! But they were always correct.I got bored with that and decided to become a professional small caps investor in 2002. I made millions, but got too cocky, and lost the lot in 2008, due to excessive gearing. A miserable, wilderness period occurred from 2008-2012.Since then, the sun has begun to shine again! I am now utterly briliant again, and immerse myself in small caps, and am a walking encyclopedia on the subject. I love writing a daily report for Stockopedia.com on most weekday mornings, constantly researching daily results & trading updates for small caps. Cheese! more »

GETECH produced a positive statement today which you could catch up with tomorrow. I hold and wanted to buy more but price up 15% this morning.

Thanks chaps! T'internet is back on now. I'm just using a very basic Chromebook out here in Paxos (small & light to travel with). Being bitten all the time by mozzies, only drawback of this part of the world. "Mythos" beer is delicious, so I'm enjoying several of those on our verandah at the moment, overlooking the sea.

Mythos - It's even better!!

Although I must admit to being somewhat preoccupied with the rather indiscriminate sell-off in small caps that has been going on in recent months. It's just one of those annoying market phases where one has to recognise that sentiment has swung from over-exuberant to over-cautious, which combined with the low volumes that we see most summers, has made things a bit choppy.

I've looked again at every stock in my portfolio, with a really harsh & critical eye, and there is really only one that I have a significant concern over (a small position). All the others are in my view good value & in some cases could easily see 20-50% price rebounds in the autumn once people get back into bull market mode again - which they will soon enough in a recovering economy. Things go in cycles, and selectively I think this is a time to be buying quality, but out of fashion small caps - after all, BLASH is what it's all about.

Right, time for another Mythos!
