Good afternoon! As it was only a half day's trading on the market today, I rolled over in bed earlier and checked all the RNSs and early price movements on my iPhone, then went back to sleep when it was clear there wasn't a lot going on.

Suitably refreshed, here is a quick review of today's small cap news.

Starcom (LON:STAR)

We had a discussion about this Israeli tech company earlier this week, and how the shares shot up about 250% in one day when the company announced that a German Porsche dealership had started offering its tracker devices as an optional extra.

I see that the shares are now falling rapidly, and are down to 13p (peaking at 25p earlier this week). Look at this for a crazy chart;

I don't think it's worth getting involved in this type of speculation, unless you spot it before everyone else, and even then it's pot luck when to sell. Fun, but it's not investing.

Oh dear, there doesn't seem to be anything else of interest happening today.

I see that Tricor (LON:TRIC) says it is still trying to secure additional working capital, and its shares remain suspended.

Castleton Technology (LON:CTP) puts out interim figures, but due to disposals and acquisitions, I can't really glean anything worthwhile from the numbers.

So on that damp squib, I will allow 2014 to slowly fizzle out.

What a fun year it's been! I have thoroughly enjoyed producing these reports each morning, and I particularly enjoy the interaction with readers - it's your comments and feedback which add considerable value, so do please keep those coming in 2015 too.

Wishing you all health & happiness in 2015 (and beyond), and let's hope we can make a bit of money together too :-)

Best wishes, Paul.
