One of the most surprising thinks about Robbie "Naked Trader" Burns latest book is that you can actually buy it! If you look on Amazon it tells you that the book will not be released until September. However I ordered my copy from Harriman House yesterday and it arrived this morning.

If you go to The Naked Trader website you can get a discount code which promises a "huge discount" however when I entered the code I got a discount of zero. Nevertheless I managed to buy the paperback edition for £12.75 plus £2.25 p&p while the recommended price is £19.99. In addition when you buy a paper copy the e-book is included for free.

The book itself deals with trading/investing psychology which Robbie Burns believes is the main reason traders tend to lose money. The writer has no formal training in psychology and writes largely from his own observations and experience. Like "The Naked Trader" the writing style is light, humorous and entertaining, but the subject matter is important and serious.

There is a nice and very topical section about which politicians might make good traders. For some strange reason Burns seem to think that Jeremy Corbyn would be a loser.
There are some very readable and sometimes sad stories of people who have made big trading mistakes and the writers opinion of why they went wrong. Useful warnings, several of which sounded all too familiar to me.

Overall, I think I preferred "The Naked Trader" but this book is still very much worth reading. Sophisticated and experienced investors here may not learn much, but here are some lessons which you cannot hear too often.

I think this book will be a "must read" for most people here, if largely for entertainment. It's the sort of book which I will keep on the bookshelf and enjoy dipping into on a regular basis over the next few years.
Enjoy!
