Hi, I'm probably missing something very simple here.... but when using the SMA 200 is there anyway of identifying shares where they have only recently turned positive? I can screen a positive SMA no problem but im looking for the SMA that has just tuned positive i.e in the last week etc. Any help or alternative method is appreciated. Thanks

Please see attached my portfolio. The main reason for this post is to discuss the low beta impact on an otherwise potentially volatile portfolio i.e small cap and momentum.Theory:Momentum >=94Small cap <= 800i.e Momentum can move small caps more freelyStock Rank - >=94Quality - >= 80 (No junk stocks)Value (rank >= 40) Nothing too expensiveEPS last interim greater than 0PEG less than <=1.5, >0and BETA…

I use IG and city index for my CFD trading. Depending on who offers the lowest margin requirement for my stocks. I'm interested to know how other people use leverage but also give insight into my thoughts. From my research a number of people suggest not using leverage for the reasons of a sharp decline or poor performance could lead you into the red etc.…

I'm holding my long positions with tighter stops close to the nearest support levels on each. The MA's are not down trending yet to suggest a sell off though.

Hi Herbie, I'm talking about the MA for the 'speculative stock', 'conservative stock' etc in isolation. So if we had the data points for the graphs shown we could use a 50MA on each of the stock types. In the same way as an index. We could not use an index because the share types would fall into different indexes as you suggest. From looking…

The risk on risk off can be clearly identified through a moving average, in the same way as equities or indexes. i.e if the average is moving up for 'highly speculative' stocks the risk is on, as soon as the average turns down its off.

Hi Grindtrader, What leverage do you use on your account? I currently use 130% My maximum per stock is a 5% holding Just wondering how this compares to you.. Thanks

Interesting graph... If you add in the 90+ stock ranks to this chart the variance between exhibitors and ranks would be alarming and confirms your thoughts even more...
