I am preparing a course on behalf of ShareSoc, designed to help investors who are not very comfortable or familiar with the range of tools now available to them.
Now, I appreciate that most readers here are already "web savvy" and this course will probably not be suitable for you. However, maybe you know someone who isn't quite "up to speed" and would welcome some coaching? If so, I'd be most grateful if you could advise them of this course, as I still have a few places left. Here are some more details:

- Use Google to find & be alerted to vital information on your investments
- Find the documents you need on company websites
- View and be alerted to important news on investments
- Get the most from ShareSoc’s websites
- Obtain fundamental data & analysis (using eg Stockopedia, Digital Look, ShareScope, Hemscott, broker sites)
- Use discussion sites to keep up to date with developments, thinking and news (including Motley Fool, ADVFN, Stockopedia) and to share your thoughts.
- Trade shares online
- Use social media to further your knowledge & exchange views (including Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook)
Venue, date and course Format
The course will be held at the University of Westminster’s Marylebone campus, conveniently situated opposite Baker Street station (details provided on booking), on 25th June. It will run from 11:00 – 16:30, with delegate registration and welcome tea/coffee from 10:30. A sandwich lunch will be provided from 13:00 – 13:45. The course will be “hands on” with a computer being provided for every two delegates, and individual assistance given by the course instructors, as required. To ensure individual attention can be provided, numbers will be strictly limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!

Prerequisites
Delegates should have basic computer skills, including being familiar with e-mail and use of a web browser.
