The Stockopedia StockRank is an equally weighted combination of Stockopedia's:
1) Value Rank
2) Quality Rank
3) Momentum Rank
We calculate these ranks for every company in the market, sum them and then re-rank the output from 0 (worst) to 100 (best). The stock showing the highest Composite StockRank will have the highest score across all 3 contributing ranks.
We discuss the StockRank in depth here.
The Stockopedia StockRank is based upon the three of the strongest 'anomalies' in finance. Value (cheap stocks beat expensive stocks), Momentum (winners beat losers) and Quality (risky stocks don't pay). These factors are largely uncorrelated which means that when one zigs, another zags. A blended approach that incorporates all three has been proven to lead to higher stock market returns with less risk.
