Centrex Metals has received Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval for the first stage of the Goulburn base metals JV with Shandong 5th Geo-Mineral Prospecting Institute (Shandong). This is the company's third Chinese-backed joint venture in Australia. Both the flagship Eyre Iron and Bungalow magnetite projects are fully funded through to the completion of bankable feasibility studies by respective Chinese JV partners and in close proximity to a proposed deep water port development by Centrex at Port Spencer. Centrex reported gross cash of A$45.9m as at June 2013 with no borrowings.
