Weighted Moving Average

What is the definition of Weighted Moving Average?

The Weighted Moving Average (WMA) is a weighted version of the Simple Moving Average (SMA) giving greater weight to more recent trading.

The definition is:

WMA=(1P1+2P2+3P3....+nPn) / ((n*(n+1))/2)

While the SMA has n/2 time lag the WMA has only n/3 time lag.
