October is almost upon us and autumn leaves are making an appearance again. Which oil stock will make it to the top....again?

For the October 2014 “>20%” monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the October competition is midnight on Tuesday 30 September 2014. Results will be posted on this thread asap after the October month end.

Depressingly predictable and similar to the performance over the last year or so.

20% UP - GKP.
20% down - Afren (Perhaps the boat sailed but surely findings of the ongoing examination of CEO/COO probity are drawing to a close.

Red October struck again, unfortunately. Have to admire Tournesol2's nose….making use of the experience of years of sniffing wine….and successfully deployed the nose to sniffing an oil crash!

The surprise for October is not no one predicted a >20% up oil stock but there are actually at least two that came out of October in the positive territory. Congrats to Fangorn for winning the >20% Up competition with GKP (governmental approval of the Field Development Plan for the Akri-Bijeel Block, GKP has 20%) going up by a respectable 7% in a down market.

The >20% Down competition was won unusually by two people with two different oil stocks. Both UKOG and OEX registered more or less the same 41.3% down. Congrats to Snowman88 and Flyingbull!!! :-)
