Quite a positive jump in the oil price yesterday and today (so far), perhaps the world of oil and gas is not as gloomy as it seems....

For the September 2015 “>20%” monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the September competition is midnight on Tuesday 1 September (Bank holiday on 31 August). Results will be posted on this thread asap after the month end. Good luck!!!!

Same old for me..

GKP for the 20% up - all finally(it seems) coming together. Consistent 43,000bopd+ now, MNR stepped up and said they will be paying IOC's regularly, from September(Was expecting an August payment myself)...

Additionally a new CPR is being commissioned so after 18 months of hefty production since the 2014 one by Equipoise, one would hope there is a significant uplift in P2 reserves from current 161m odd.

For the down: GPX
So many missed opportunities already passed by...eg Mart resources./LGO/WZR

Same old for me too please. Aminex (AEX) for the 20% up........no doubt about it.....this is THE month.....I think!!

I'll join the PCI bandwagan for the >20% UP.
MXO for the >20% down. Could be quite a while before, if any, a Mexican licence is awarded to MXO.

PCI went up an useful 18% in September courtesy of being close to the supergiant gas discovery by ENI in the deep water region offshore Egypt. Congrats to Eastheat, Flyingbull and Sawney!

Congrats to Mach100 for winning the >20% Down Competition with JUB which went down massively in September! Too many things went wrong with JUB…..field development plan delayed, appraisal wells not up to expectation, production underperforming, etc, etc.
