Hi All,

I am new to Stocko and this is my first post so please be gentle! I have read the FAQ'a and as many posts as possible before posting this question so apologies in advance if the answer is already obvious but I can't find it.

I was wondering how people manage the folio transactions to be able to get an accurate view of their folio performance over time when they are quite active in the market?

Clearly if you just hold shares for a period the graphs track their overall performance against your indicator of choice very well for that period but if you are buying or selling it doesn't. I notice when I was buying shares that my performance all of a sudden looked spectacular simply because the value of my folio was increasing. What a genius investor I am!

My workaround for this has been to add a cash deposit amount before I bought any shares equal to the amount i've spent keeping cash at £0. Each time I buy a new share I go back and increase this amount by the value of the new purchase.

The only issue with this is it gives a long period of time with a huge amount of performance mainly tracking pretty much cash only.

Am I missing something obvious or do other people have different systems? I revert to a backup excel sheet to track true performance.

Cheers,
Bullygig.
