Amiad Filtration Systems Plc, the producer and global supplier of water filters and filtration systems for the industrial, municipal and irrigation markets, announced its interim results for the six months to 30 June 2010.

The results showed that the company was still feeling the effects of the global economic downturn. Turnover increased by 3%, and gross margins were steady, but operating profit fell by nearly 60% to $2.1 million.

Amiad saw interest in its business fall to a low in November 2009, but business has begun to pick up since April 2010 with a steady rise in the number of new contracts.

The AFS share price has increased by 9% over the last year.
