Is the worst over for the 2014/15 oil price crash???

For the April 2015 “>20%" monthly oil stock competitions, which oil stocks will have the greatest move for

(i) >20% gain?
(ii) >20% loss?

You may enter two stocks, one for (i) and one for (ii). More than one person may enter the same stock. The deadline for the April competition is midnight on Tuesday 31 March. Results will be posted on this thread asap after the April month end.

I will keep my near standing order for Aminex (Aex) going for the up 20% please. Today's reaction to Wentworth's RNS saying that the Tanzanians have notified a delay of delivery of first gas until July is unlikely to be viewed positively by the market, however, one day Rodney........!!!

Same for me, standing "Buy" order for GKP.
A placing for some extra funds +32p - the removal of Simon Murray(Tad concerned at this I have to say)

20%+ GKP for me.

Well, I'm not sure IOF counts as an O&G stock but I see the invitation to this comp appeared on the IOF ADVFN bulletin board. I suggest IOF will rise more than 20% in April - for several reasons:

1. They SHOULD be awarded the long awaited water extraction permit during April. And following this they MIGHT conclude a JV.
2. 2014 results are due in April and we already know from the January trading update that the headline numbers will be positive. There could be maiden profitability - my calcs show the range is from £1m loss to £1m profit but there is a good chance they are currently profitable month-on-month. The Chemicals division (IOC) really is a great business and this is where revenue growth and increasing margins were coming from in 2014.
3. We will get the Q1 iodine production update which, due to reduced fracking activity, should a) be positive and b) might lead to increased guidance for H1.

>20% up: RKH. Well spudded on Zebedee prospect on 6 March 2015. "Drilling, coring and logging operations are expected to take approximately 30 days."

>20% Down: MATD. Hope of a farm out receding?

Busy month for IAE with good flow tests results with the last Stella development well before production start-up, Norway asset sales and extended debt facilities. Share price performed really well with 59% gain in April. Congrats to Wordbodger for winning the April >20% Up competition with IAE!!!

On the other end of the scale and the other side of the world, drilling has to be temporarily stopped for about two weeks in the Isobel Deep well due to repairs on the blow out preventor. Drilling rig is being used for drilling the top sections of the Chatham and/or Jayne East wells in the meantime. Congrats to Proselenes and Wezzy for the winning the April >20% Down competition with FOGL down by 9%!!!
