Ashtead Group has dropped considerably from highs of £64 to around £47 and continues to decline.
I cannot see any evidence of institutions selling shares, does anyone have an idea on the weakness?

It's probably to do with a slowdown in the US where Ashtead (LON:AHT) have a lot of exposure, Somero Enterprises Inc (LON:SOM) are also down by similar amounts. EPS growth forecast have been reduced recently. Debt is quite high, interest rates are going up. A lot of stocks have also fallen back, in the last few months, construction sector is out of favour, reports of growth slowing.
Hi
Coincidently I exited Ashtead (LON:AHT) today.
I looked at a few things and concluded that it's fallen steadily since 15/11/21, but also fell after the Q2 earnings, even though 2022 guidance's were bullish.
I noted that Q3 earnings are 8/3/22, but I could not envisage anything in the near future (or in those earnings) which might catalyse a recovering of my negative position (with any degree of certainty).
Disclosure I have held Ashtead (LON:AHT) for long periods and had intended to retain it over several years, but I think it will fall further and present another entry point once these market conditions play out a bit (inflation, particularly US reactions to it, Quantitative tightening, rate rises, fall out from Covid on employment factors, Ukraine, to list a few). I will re-allocate the capital to other options.

Hi again
Also I noted that one Broker reduced their Ashtead (LON:AHT) price target from 6250 to 4900. That is quite a drop (nearly 22%). I don't normally take much notice of those targets, but did notice that one as I was digging into should I sell or not?

Broker downgrades seem to be having much more influence, on share prices, than they normally do. Must be the nervous market. I don't hold at the moment, it's one on my watchlist, the debt puts me off. If there is a recession, then it's not the sort stock, I want to be holding.
