I was wondering what people thought about the upcoming earnings reports (Thurs 18th) and the potential impact on share prices? I was planning to invest in Barclays but mindful of recent events where even excellent earning reports have meant share prices drop. I am trying to get my head around Implied Volatility (IV) and am seeing the jumps today makes me think that it may have an impact post-Thursday.

Somewhat surprised by todays dip but it could be currency related in part as well as the concern about bad debt. I think reinstating the dividend and continuing good news on Covid will have a positive impact from heron in. Disclosure, I don't own BARC but I do own Lloyds and HSBC and am under water on both.
Question: see you are a new member - are you surprised at the lack of discussion of Larger Cap shares on Stockopedia? I've been a member for a year, and whilst I am a convert and have renewed my sub, this still seems a big gap to me. Would be interested in your view.
