Blinkx Plc (LON:BLNX), the AIM listed video search engine group, has announced a partnership with KidMango, the world's largest online library of independent, professionally produced video created for kids under the age of 12. Under the terms of the deal, over two thousand kid-friendly videos will now be fully searchable and viewable through the blinkx service.

The KidMango library contains popular shows from some of the world's best producers of animation and live action, including thousands of videos covering everything from Einstein to aliens and vampires to Leonardo da Vinci. Now part of GenMouse Inc., an online network of kid-friendly websites, KidMango was previously incubated by PorchLight Entertainment, one of the world's leading independent family entertainment companies. Since 1995, PorchLight has produced award-winning children's programming such as Jay Jay the Jet Plane (PBS), Tutenstein (Discover Kids), Animalia (BBC, PBS) and Secret Saturdays (Cartoon Network).

Suranga Chandratillake, the founder and chief executive of blinkx, said: “Kids today are spending more time online than ever before, from watching TV shows, to playing games, to interacting with friends. For parents who are looking for wholesome, premium online programming to keep their children entertained, we're delighted to offer KidMango's high-quality, kid-friendly content on blinkx.”

As the pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the smartest way to find rich media on the web. The company has made more than 720 partners and indexed over 35 million hours of video and audio content to date. Shares in the group were unmoved today but have soared from 13p in mid May and are currently trading at 82.5p. Earlier this year, Stockopedia spoke to Suranga Chandratillake about his future plans for the group.
