The company's product and service range includes energy for heat and light, petrol forecourts, and petrochemical products for other industries.  The company has recently received a high degree of negative news coverage due to serious damage to an oil and gas pipe in the Gulf of Mexico, leading to the loss of millions of barrels of oil. As a result, BP's share price has been adversely affected.

  • Incorporated in 1909 in England and Wales
  • Merged with Amoco Corporation in 1998 and became known as BP Amoco p.l.c.
  • The company subsequently changed its name to BP p.l.c.
