bring back the old web pages, this new site is no good
The move to AWS (Amazon Web Services) means these guys will have ditched their own physical servers and with them all that old legacy code.
As an ex software engineer, I say you have to keep on top of the latest tech, nobody wants to maintain ancient legacy code. Software developers will change who they work for to stay cutting edge.
Try recruting someone and tell them you want them to maintain a ten year old system - It aint happening.
I didn’t like the new system at first but it has improved since it’s first release and I have got used to it now. It has got everything I want that I can think off and I like it now. If they went back to the old system I am sure I would not like it now. Being an old fart, it takes me a while to get used to something new!
Yes, I still prefer the old site, in fact I miss some things from Company Refs. Charts with EPS and Relative Strength plots along with price, who could ask for more?
I prefer the old site as well. Too many missing features still, even simple sorting that was on the old site still not on the new site. Too many restrictions also that were available before such as number of screens. No fantasy funds, even Stockopedia staff can't even share folios such as NAPS. Difficult to follow SCVR as hardly anyone bothers putting in the tickers. I rarely post anymore.
I also much preferred the old site, but am getting used to the new one. But I still can find the very useful “highest dividend” payers nor the “highest dividend and forecast” pages. Are they on the new site? If so can someone please post how to find them. The dividend yield figures weren’t always accurate and with some paying no dividend at all at the top of the lists! But those sections were very good for the shares where the figures were accurate.
Some good stuff is missing but the new site is so so much faster I don't have time to read the pearl of wisdom they post up when moving around.
overall I wouldn't want to give up the speed (that sounds so wrong)
The speed improvement was after the move to Amazon before that it was painfully slow compared to the old site.
But recently have problems accessing the site, seems to be an issue with the App.
Thanks Neil. It helps a bit but some very big current dividend payers aren’t on any of those screens. The simple long list of the current biggest dividend payers, in size of dividend order, and the separate long list of biggest dividend yields and forecast on the old site was so much better, and I can’t fathom why they were discontinued, or if they still exist, why they are too difficult to find on the new site
