I am planning on buying stocks that have 99 or greater for both the StockRank and QV numbers, and to time the buy when it corresponds with technical indicator(s) using Price, MACD and RSI. Any thoughts on this?
My first thought is 99/100 ranked shares better performers than 90-95? Only Ed and a few others at Stockopedia probably know that but 90-95 has outperformed the 95-100 QVM shares, not by a lot, 120% v 104% over the last 4 years. So maybe you should cast your net a bit wider? No I have not used MACD or RSI, I can see that RSI could give you an indication when to buy and I can see that MACD can do on some shares. I rather keep things simple and just look at the 50MA and see where the share price is heading.Take Morgan Sindall (LON:MGNS), I would not be buying that one now, I thought it had peaked about 3 weeks ago. Lets look at Sportech (LON:SPO), looks like it's losing momentum, also AAL, both have just gone up to 99 and 100. Anglo American (LON:AAL) has had a very good run and I should have bought early last year, not sure how much momentum is left, it's also below the 50MA.
Are there any you think are buys at the moment?
