I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on potential opportunities in the renewable energy sector off the back of this announcement. It does seem like an area poised for growth as a continuing problem we can't ignore. The stock rank of the listed UK companies here don't look too appealing, however could this be a turning point? For example Powerhouse Energy (LON:PHE) apparently specialises in converting plastic into clean energy.
I don't hold anything in this sector but I'm thinking it is worth consideration at this point in time.

Symphony Environmental Technologies (LON:SYM) is another company in this space. I think their plastic is biodegradable though as opposed being converted into energy
