Another positive trading update from Plus500 (LON:PLUS) this morning who are "pleased to announce that the strong momentum, previously referred to in its trading update on 20 November 2018, has been maintained through to the year end. Accordingly, with the year ended 31 December 2018 almost complete, the Board anticipates the financial performance will be ahead of current market expectations." The shares are up 8.1% at 8.12am.

Lombard Asset Management's holding in Batm Advanced Communications (LON:BVC) has crept up from 23.11% to 24.02%. I wonder if it will carry on towards 30%, or what their intentions are....?

Burford Capital (LON:BUR) continue to rise after recent funding news, up 2.5% at the mo.

The markets are all over the place, with the DOW up over 5% last night after a heavy drop the day before, boosted by retail sales and a strong economic outlook; why this seems to push aside previous worries over the US/China trade war and so on I don't know. The Nikkei was up 3.88% after a fall the previous day of around 5%. I presume the UK market will follow suit, albeit at a more moderate pace with the overriding Brexit concerns still at the forefront.
