CURRENCY REGIONS PRECEDE DEATH OF FIAT?

The end of this multi-generation cycle of fiat currency is nigh. With a global 'race to the bottom' now irreversible thanks to the Federal Reserve having defacto control of global monetary policy, what are people's insights into the likely new framework? For sure it will have been long in the gestation and unlikely to accept the strictures of a precious metals standard.

Before a sensible system can emerge the establishment will have one more unbacked free-for-all monetary solution, almost certainly with just 3 or 4 currency regions put forward once this fiat debacle runs its full race to disintegration. Amero (plenty of talk of that for years) the New Euro and Aseo anyone?

I agree that there will be great opposition to "the strictures of a precious metal standard".

You seem to envisage a gradual change whereby more deals get done in EUROs and the RMB becomes some sort of reserve currency and that we will slowly move towards a world where oil may be bought in a choice of currencies.

I very much hope this is the case, and the chinese stimulus package no doubt brings the emergence of the RMB onto the world stage closer.

I do however wonder whether the change can happen gradually. I suspect if an alternative to the dollar emerged then the dollar's disappearance might be extremely rapid.

I would then imagine that nations would be extremely unhappy about moving out of the frying pan of one nation's currency (US) and into the fire of another's (china?).

In these circumstances i suspect some kind of "UN dollar" would be designed which would have the "advantages" of being elastic (printable) but not the disadvantages of being in the hands of one nation at the expense of the world.

I definitely don't see a gradual change but rather a rapid degeneration over the next 12 months with hyperinflation emerging in the space of a few weeks or even less than that at some point in the next 24. From the ashes the new world order wants to rise like the phoenix to start a new even more pervasive and twisted form of controlled surveillance society. The only big question outstanding before we get there is how much war and between whom we have to suffer globally. Make no mistake Obama is in Brzezinski's pocket and he has an overwhelming and passionate hatred of Russia and was responsible for the book 'The Grand Chessboard' which discusses Eurasia as being the 'playing area' for a grand geostrategic battle to retain US hegemonic control. Obama incidentally has already openly talked about setting up a civilian national defence force (with extra NLP training no doubt). Suckers.
