Hello all,

I'm a newbie in Stockopedia and would like an advice on creating custom screens. I'd like to follow the system found in The Acquirer's Multiple: How the Billionaire Contrarians of Deep Value Beat the Market book by Tobias Carlisle.

How do I go about setting up the screen in Stockopedia Custom Screen?

Hi kevinw.

You might like to start by taking a look at this introductory video put together by Ed on how to set up a basic stock screener.

From here, I suggest you dive in and play around with it. Hardest part is adapting text from a “guru” book to fit the available screen rules.

Since the book seems to be based on ideas from Buffett and Greenblatt you could start by "duplicating" (taking a copy of) the Guru screens that Stockopedia have created which use techniques from these two Gurus and then tinkering with them to match the book or your own preferences.

Stockopedia also tracks the performance of all the Guru screens so you can quickly see how well Buffett and Greenblatt screens have performed recently.

Hi Kevin,

How did you get on setting up The “Acquirer's Multiple” screen? I’m trying to figure out how to find “operating income before depreciation and amortization”.
