Highlights from my portfolio:

Alterian (LON:ALN) reported and on first reading I didn't like what I saw and so I sold my shares on open. The old saying 'act in haste, repent at leisure' comes to mind. The statement wasn't as bad as I first thought and after a bit of a dip the price recovered....er....without me. No matter, I banked a nice profit and I I will wait to see whether it can regain 200 or whether I might yet buy back lower.

Carclo (LON:CAR) heaved down and then turned around and went back up. Very odd. Bid rumours circulating or a market shake? No idea.

Impax Asset Management Group (LON:IPX) went up yesterday and down today. Go figure.

Kryso Resources (LON:KYS) weakened with the gold price; just have to wait now to see what happens.

UEC (US stock) shot up today; I bought it yesterday. I didn't even think to mention it as I thought it would a sleeper but it just shot up today. I've been out all day so now I must find out why.

Vatukoula Gold Mines (LON:VGM) shot up as well and then pulled back a bit. Clearly the market likes the forthcoming consolidation and TSX listing. The difference between the UK and Canada is that Canada prices in the full value of resource, whereas here we get hung up on measured, indicated and inferred. The hope is that VGM has 4m oz to be mined over a 40 years; so the market is, I think, pricing in a re-rating for Canada. Well, that's my guess...who knows!

My top 10 nearners (£££'s, not %) for the past 7 months (I run my year aligned to the tax year) are:

Ortac Resources (LON:OTC)
Senior (LON:SNR)
Vatukoula Gold Mines (LON:VGM)
