Hi guys,
Im holding some spare cash. Im looking at Deterra to add to my portfolio. Could I get your opinion on them as a long term share with growth and dividends in mind?

The royalty space obviously has less overheads than the mining companies but the dividend yields are significantly lower.
Personally I prefer the royalties despite their lower yields. They have low overheads, something like Franco Nevada for example only has 38 staff (last time I checked) but their market cap is a whopping ~$26 billion! To put that into perspective, Rio Tinto has almost 50,000 staff, market cap ~$123 billion.
I would argue that Canadian based Altius Minerals is the best royalty company in the base metal space. Compare their royalty portfolio to that of Deterra or even Ecora (formally Anglo Pacific). Disclosure I own both Altius and Ecora. Note: Rick Rule (Sprott's largest shareholder) owns a massive chunk of Altius.
