Very surprising! Not a single mention of the Pakistan floods that has impacted 20million people since it started in July, 3 weeks ago and has affected more then 20 million people, with thousands dead and millions of people who have lost everything.

We can't turn a blind eye whilst innocent poor human beings affected by this catastrophic natural disaster are still suffering 3 weeks on. They are humans beings, people like me and you.

Why has the response from the global community been so slow and very little money raised?

A comparison to Haiti

But the pace of giving still pales in comparison to other disaster recovery efforts, most notably the Haitian earthquake in January.

According to Shannon Scribner, Senior Policy Advisor for Humanitarian Response at Oxfam America, nearly three weeks into the disaster in Pakistan, the roughly $230 million committed to help 15 million people affected breaks down to about $15 committed per flood affected person. Within 10 days of the Haiti earthquake, $742 million was committed (and $920 million pledged). With some 1.5 million people directly impacted, that breaks down to $495 per person committed, she says.

People were very fortcoming to donate to the Haiti disaster but have been very slow to help the Pakistan flood victims. Why?

This is such a perfect opportunity for the world to fight the war on terror instead it appears the world has shy'ed away!

We are all very lucky to live comfortable high standard lifestyles But.let's not forget people who are much worse off and have lost their loved ones and livlihoods from this natural disaster. Life is not all about money money money. There are a lot of wealthy individuals on these boards....

I hope this post encourages others to donate...
