Headline shares are tipped to open between 15 and 20 points higher, according to financial websites, despite Asian markets showing weakness after last night's Wall Street sell-off. In the US last night, the Dow was down 146 points at 10,153, the Nasdaq Composite dropped 37 points at 2,217 and the S&P 500 was 18 points lower at 1,074. In Asia today, the Nikkei was down 207.02 points at 9,721.32, while the Hang Seng ended the morning 123.67 points lower at 20,609.82. Crude oil traded at $76.27 a barrel on Nymex while gold settled at $1,240 an ounce.
