Headline shares are tipped to open twenty-two to twenty-six points higher today, according to financial websites, taking a lead from signs of a rally in Asia, with BT Group (LON:BT.A) a focus as strike ballot is called off. In Asia today, the Nikkei was last up 8.32 points at 9,275.1, while the Hang Seng approached the midpoint ahead 55.51 points at 19,897.71. Crude oil traded at $71.54 a barrel on Nymex while gold settled at $1,206 an ounce.

LONDON MARKETS

In the corporate diary for the day, final results are due from Adept Telecom (LON:ADT), Anite Plc (LON:AIE) Group and Spice Plc (LON:SPI). Trading statements are expected from Balfour Beatty (LON:BBY), Partygaming Plc (LON:PRTY), Persimmon (LON:PSN), Punch Taverns (LON:PUB) and Tullow Oil Plc (LON:TLW).

Elsewhere, 3i Infrastructure (LON:3IN), Blavod Wines and Spirits , N Brown Group, China Biodiesel International, JPMorgan Income & Capital Investment Trust, Ortus VCT (LON:ORT) and Westside Acquisitions Plc (LON:WST) host their AGMs.
