Headline shares are tipped to open between 45 and 50 points higher, according to financial websites, following strong gains in New York last night. In the US last night, the Dow climbed 214 points at 10,405, the Nasdaq Composite was up 62 points at 2,306 and the S&P 500 gained 26 points at 1,115. In Asia today, the Nikkei was up 192.99 points at 10,080.88, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 10.24 points at 20,062.15. Crude oil traded at $76.99 a barrel on Nymex while gold settled at $1,236 an ounce.
