It's a useful feature to be able to edit posts.
After a while the edit button disappears. Is it simply timed?
I can understand the reasons for not allowing retrospective changes to posts but I would have thought that leaving the edit button available for longer would be useful especially if no-one has added a further post.

Yes it is timed. Two hours (or perhaps one?)
The reason is that (unlike on ADVFN) historical views shouldn't be re-written.
It is occasionally inconvenient (as yesterday when I realised I'd made a small error three hours after posting) but I think the balanace is about right.
