Education Development International plc ("EDI"), listed on AIM since 2000, is a leading provider of accredited qualifications for international training providers, online performance measures for schools and back office assessment services and solutions for companies and professional bodies. EDI has a head office in Coventry, satellite offices in Cyprus, Scotland, Singapore and Malaysia and agents in over 30 countries around the world. EDI operates in four key areas:

  • International Qualifications
    EDI awards more than 240,000 LCCI International Qualifications each year, in over 100 countries, covering all the key functions of business. In Asia, LCCI International Qualifications (mainly accountancy & book-keeping) are offered through Educational Resources (ER), a Singapore-based educational organisation.
  • UK Vocational Qualifications
    EDI Vocational Qualifications are developed in collaboration with industry and are used by students and employers as a benchmark for practical skills and quality. They are Government accredited and are designed to develop and assess vocational skills in order to increase career potential. Last year EDI registered 260,000 learners across the wide range of EDI vocational qualifications.
  • Goal online assessment programme
    The Goal online assessment programme enables schools to access detailed individual pupil and class performance reports, generated through a series of online assessments, mapped against the demands of the National Curriculum.
  • EDI Assessment Solutions
    Through the company’s technology solutions, EDI offers bespoke assessment solutions for awarding bodies, universities and Professional Bodies, including a secure off-the-shelf online examination delivery system (I-Assess) and is the preferred technology partner of a number of leading professional bodies in the accountancy sector.

Dec 2002 Acquisition of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) for £1.45m, and change of name to EDI
Jun 2004 Acquisition of a majority holding in Educational Resources Pte Limited for £0.36m
Oct 2004 Acquisition of EQL Assessment Limited from BPP for £0.15m
Aug 2005 All operations transferred to a single site in Coventry
May 2006 Acquisition of Joint Examining Board Limited for £0.4m
May 2007 Acquisition of eNVQ Limited for £1.78m
