I'm trying to build up a historical picture of an investment club portfolio to look at performance over a number of years and I have a problem with stocks which were quoted at the time but have now been sold etc and are now unquoted. I don't seem to be able to enter these in the portfolio as there isnt a current quote available. An example was Smart Metering Systems sold to private equity last year, previously quoted on the LSE.
As the position on these stocks have all been closed one thought was to enter them into the portfolio (buy / sell / dividends) on a random quoted stock manually eg barclays so the cash flows were correctly included in the performance calculation, it won't impact the current portfolio valuation as the positions on these previously quoted stocks are now all closed.
Any ideas would be helpful
