LON:ESNT | Essentra - Any Ideas Why The Stock Is Up?

I can't really understand why the stock went up 15% following a rather negative release. The debt has increased, the EPS is down and the outlook isn't really convincing.

Any ideas? I'd be grateful if anything for educational value...

I assume that the market has regarded the new CEO, Paul Forman, as a positive along with his instigation of a strategic review in order to start to get things moving in a positive direction.

You have to remember that a lot of the down side has already been factored into the share price, now more details have emerged about the true impact and the disposals to help the balance sheet the market is more confident. Time will tell whether the upswing is right or not.
