I hope someone can help with the following:
1. Does EMS apply to US stocks or just UK?
2. If so, where is the best place to check the EMS for US stocks?

It depends what you mean by US stocks!
Afaik EMS is a term in use by the London Stock Exchange so US stocks quoted in London have an EMS - e.g. Somero Enterprises Inc (LON:SOM) is 2,000.
Whether American exchanges ( and there are more than one) have the equivalent I do not know.
