Rockhopper Exploration (LON:RKH) (RKH, 336.75p, ? (14.93%)) announced the successful completion of an equity placing for a total of 65,500,000 new ordinary shares of the Company at a price of 315p, to raise approximately £206.3m before commissions and expenses. The placing shares equal, in number, approximately 34.0% of the ordinary shares currently in issue.

Cove Energy (LON:COV) (COV, 74.75p, ? (3.46%)) announced a significant natural gas discovery at the Barquentine exploration well. Barquentine is the fourth well in the offshore programme operated by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, in the frontier Rovuma Basin Area 1 Offshore Mozambique (Cove Energy W.I 8.5%).

JKX Oil & Gas (JKX, 308.3p, ? (0.42%)) announced that the Shkorpilovtci South West R-01 exploration well in east Bulgaria spudded successfully on 17 October 2010. The well is targeting an amplitude supported channel sand complex of late Eocene age. Results from the well, which will drill to a proposed total depth of 900m, are expected in early November. Prospective resources for this feature are estimated at 20-30Bcf (gross). JKX (40%) operates the Golitza B1 licence with co-venturers Balkan Explorers (30%) and Sorgenia (30%).

Aurelian Oil & Gas (AUL, 54.5p, ? (3.54%)) published an operational update. The first Siekierki Multi Fracced Horizontal Well Trzek-2 wireline logs and cores confirm larger gas column, better porosity, improved gas concentration and a zone of better permeability compared to Trzek-1 and a horizontal sidetrack drilling has commenced. The frac and flow test to complete during December 2010 in line with planned well schedule and budget. The first Bieszczady well spudded on 14th October 2010, targeting prospective resources of up to 100MMbbl of oil in Carpathian (LON:CPT) Thrust Fold Belt Core Area. Results are expected in Q1 2011. In Bulgaria the Shkorpilovtci South West R-01 exploration well was spudded on 17th October 2010, targeting prospective resources of 20-30Bcf (gross) and results are expected in early November 2010.

Aminex (LON:AEX) (AEX, 8.88p, ? (2.9%)) announced the test results of its Olympia Minerals 10-1 well at Shoats Creek, Louisiana.
