Rockhopper (LON:RKH) Exploration PLC (BUY, 600p) (RKH LN, 240.8p, ? 4.1%) announced an update on Exploration well 14/15-4 (Well). The Well penetrated multiple reservoir targets: Beverley, Casper South, Casper and Sea Lion Main Complex and was drilled on Rockhopper operated licence PL004b. The Company earned a 60% interest through the drilling of the Well. Wireline logging and formation test data indicate that all four targets are hydrocarbon bearing and no water wet sands were observed in the Well. Highlights Beverley: Wet gas discovery; Gross reservoir of 27.5m (90 ft); Net gas pay of 25.8m (85 ft); Net to gross of 94%; Average porosity of 22%; Average permeability of 45mD; and no gas water or gas oil contact observed. Highlights - Casper South: Oil and wet gas discovery; Gross reservoir of 24.5m (80 ft); Net oil pay of 11.6m (38 ft); Net gas pay of 8.5m (28 ft); Net to gross of 83%; Average porosity of 25% (gas) and average porosity of 27% (oil); Average permeability of 212mD (gas) and average permeability of 1011mD (oil); Gas oil contact observed at 2429m mdrkb; and no oil water contact observed. Highlights Casper: Successful appraisal well; Gross reservoir of 12m (39 ft); Net oil pay of 2.4m (8 ft); Net to gross of 22%; Average porosity of 16%; Average permeability of 33mD; and no oil water contact observed. Gulf Keystone Petroleum (LON:GKP) PLC (BUY 300p) (GKP LN, 173.5p, ? 1.2%) provided an operational update. The Company has completed drilling of the Shaikan-4 appraisal well to a total depth of 3,387m in the Middle Triassic with 2,375m of total gross pay interval. The well has been drilled through the Jurassic (Sargelu, Alan, Mus and Butmah formations) and the upper and middle Triassic (Baluti, Kurre Chine A and Kurre Chine B formations) with an indication of potential new Jurassic reservoirs in Sargelu sands and Barsarin carbonates.
