Dominion Petroleum (LON:DPL) ( 6.38p, ? (4.08%)) announced that it has received its drilling permit for the Ngaji-1 well on Exploration Area Block 4B (EA4B), Dominion's first exploration well in Uganda. The permit was issued by Uganda's Department of Petroleum Exploration and Production. Drilling of the well is expected to commence in June.

Amerisur Resources Plc (LON:AMER) ( 17.25p, ? (2.99%)) announced an update on drilling on the Fenix block in Colombia. The 8.1/2" deviated section of Isabel-1 has been drilled to 1854ft, with a final inclination of 44 degrees. Following logging, which indicated a total apparent thickness of 144ft of sandstones with oil saturation, the 7" casing was run and successfully cemented. Drill Stem Tests were performed in two zones: The first was performed over the interval from 1121-1164 ft. This zone was identified from logs as having high hydrocarbon saturation but relatively poor reservoir characteristics. The zone flowed oil but could not be flowed consistently to surface. However a downhole sample of fluid returned dry oil at 34.5º API. This section was subsequently isolated and remains a valid candidate for stimulation at a later date. The second test was performed over the interval from 960-1040ft. The interval produced light oil to surface under natural flow (32.5º API) through various choke sizes at rates from approximately 150-350bopd. The well has now been completed as a producer and the Company will apply in the next few days to the Ministry of Mines and Energy for authorisation to begin a Long Term Test of this interval.

Nighthawk Energy Plc (LON:HAWK) ( 23.5p, ? (3.09%)) announced the commencement of a three well vertical drilling programme at the Jolly Ranch project, located in Lincoln County, Colorado. The Company holds a 50% interest in the project and the operator, Running Foxes Petroleum Inc. the remaining 50% interest. Interpretation of four recently acquired 3D seismic surveys covering a total of over 25,000 acres at Jolly Ranch have established potential sweet spots in the Cherokee and Atoka shale packages in addition to several conventional targets. Two of the three wells being drilled are development wells, the Craig 6-4 and the Craig 16-32, located in the Bolero Field, part of the Jolly Ranch core development area. The third well, John Craig 11-2 is located near Limon, which is…
