Getting started with ETFs

I'm about 12 months into my SIPP & ISA investment journey and have had some great results thanks to CAN-SLIM and having followed some very basic investment advice from various books.

Although I enjoy researching, building and managing my own portfolios I'm looking to invest 15-20% of my SIPP in ETFs. Does anyone have any good advice on how to get started, maybe a book or two that help me understand the basics, any websites or tools that you use to research EFTs?

When it comes to EFTs I'm at the stage where I know that there is a lot I don't know yet, so any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Understanding the basics of ETFs: https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-etf-files/toy/

For screening ETFs, have you looked at morningstar?

Hope that helps as a start, maybe others can fill you in with some more resources.

I am in a similar position to the original post, I have had a look at Morningstar which seems to give good information on an individual ETF basis, but also seems a bit overwhelming. For example if searching for an S&P small cap etf how do you know which of the many companies to enter in the search tool or compare management fees, liquidity etc.

Thanks for any help

I would suggest taking a look at https://www.justetf.com/uk/ Good overview and filter for almost every ETF.
