Executive Summary
Glisten plc is a confectionery, snack foods and specialist ingredients group. It serves a wide variety of customers including many high street retailers, major food manufacturers, the foodservice sector and global export markets. The principal activities of Glisten are the manufacture of chocolate and sugar-based confectionery, edible decorations, cereal and health bars, and specialist confectionery ingredients. In the three years since the Glisten group was formed it has delivered, on average, more than ten percent organic growth. It has also completed three major acquisitions: Sunya in October 2003 (chocolate processing and packaging); F.Fravigar Limited in January 2004 (boiled sweets, gums and toffees); Halo Foods in December 2004 (cereal and health bars) - which included a further subsidiary, Nimbus Foods (specialist ingredients and inclusions). The purchase of Halo and Nimbus Foods is the largest acquisition to date and more than doubled the size of the Glisten group. All these businesses have been successfully integrated and are targeted to continue growing at ten percent per annum.
