Being in an "offer period" places additional obligations on major shareholders to disclose their positions and if you look at the full listing of recent RNSes as per investegate you see that there have been quite a few.
The only curiosity I can see is that the announcement that you link to whilst appearing on ADVFN and also here on Stockopedia, doesn't seem to be shown on investegate.
I can only guess that the negative feedback you have had is either from :
1. Members of the grammar preservation grouping, who have no interest in helping French Connection.
or
2. People who feel you should have known or found out yourself.

Ooh, don't fade away, or be dissuaded by the arrogant superiority of the minority on here. I am certainly one of the little people, and sometimes feel out of my depth when some talk of investing thousands in certain stocks, but at the same time I feel I sometimes have useful things to say.
French Connection (LON:FCCN) has been in this 'offer period' (with four parties) for some time now, since October, with no further announcements in this respect. I fear that at some point a trading statement will be issued and, based on many others in the Retail sector, it may will contain an amount of disappointing news, which could then massage any offer price downwards.

Strongly agree Andrea,
We should all keep having our say. A minority on her seem to think if you don't invest or trade in exactly the same way as them and their favorite demi-god trader (whoever it might be) that you are somehow defective and need to be re-educated.
There is room on here for lots of different strategies and tactics. Thoughts should be shared with others with courtesy, otherwise it can escalate and end up like several of the other sites (heaven forbid).
Many thanks to all who replied there are indeed some very good traders on here most of whom are happy to educate and share their knowledge.
I was just querying the rns as it seemed different to the usual format when someone has moved above or below their previous position.
I was also musing was it a case insiders were now allowed to trade after a period of time passing since the possible offers were made public and if it was related to that.
Agree with you Andrea I fear a low ball bid in the 50p area may be realised or possibly no bid at all and then 30p here we come probably won't help if the Bonmarche Holdings (LON:BON) update next week is poor also.
