Hydro International, the manufacturer of products for the control and treatment of waste and storm water, announced that it has been awarded a contract worth £15.6 million with GBM, a joint venture of Galliford Try, Biwater Treatment and Mott MacDonald. The contract is for Hydro's Zickert Sludge Scraper technology, wjhich is to be used in GBM's £63 million project to upgrade the Beckton STW sewage treatment works in East London. This is the largest project in Hydro’s history and will include installation of equipment and tanks roughly equal to 10 football pitches – construction commences in March 2011 and is due for completion in 2015.
