Immunodiagnostic Systems, the Newcastle based diagnostics company, announced that it has launched the third diagnostic test in its growth “panel” for the automatic IDS-iSYS diagnostic system. The Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 (IGFBP-3) assay will join the Human Growth Hormone (hGH) and Insulin-like Growth Factor –I (IGF-I) assays that are used to diagnose hormone related growth disorders. In addition, the IGF-I assay has been cleared for marketing in the US.
Immunodiagnostics also launched its Bone Specific Alkaline Phosphatase (BAP) assay, measurement of which is useful for the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
The launch of these two assays brings the total number available on the IDS-iSYS to 9. As Immunodiagnostics completes new tests for use on the IDS-iSYS, the system will become more useful to clinicians and should drive additional sales.
Immunodiagnostic Systems is expected to make a trading update for its financial year to 31 March 2011 on Wednesday, 6 April 2011.
