Is it possible to use the charts feature to do TA on indices? I have tried putting in FTSE, FTSE100 etc but it cannot find anything.
Not at the moment, but we should be able to add this. I'll discuss with the dev team and come back to you once it's available.

Excellent! I just joined the other day and I must say it is an excellent site. But it is missing a few things to fully win me over. One is what I have already mentioned about the indices and second it would be nice to have the ability to add trade data to the portfolio similar to Google Finance. There you can add the date you bought a stock, for what price and what the commission was and then you can obviously see what the stock has gained over time.
Welcome onboard. We're actively developing so always happy to take any comments into consideration. We did have a portfolio "trade" feature like the one you describe, but we stripped it out a while ago to simplify things from a data perspective. Obviously, you can set up a Stockopedia Fund which allows trading but only at current market levels. We are thinking about adding back the ability to enter an average entry price and number of shares for portfolios, but we will probably shy away from allowing the entering of individual historic trades. We'll let you know if that changes, though. Cheers, M

Well if I would be able to add average price and the number of shares and see what I have gained over time it would fill some of my needs at least. It would be a most welcome feature!
regular routine - I'm another developer here at Stockopedia... we've added some general indices as follows.
You can chart them by adding the ticker into the chart ticker box...
'FTSE 100' =>'UKX',
'FTSE 250' =>'MCIX',
'FTSE Small Cap' =>'SMX',
'AIM' =>'AXX',
'TechMark 100' =>'T1X',
'Dow Jones' =>'INDU',
'S&P 500' =>'S500',
'FTSE Eurotop 300' =>'3EX',
'Hang Seng' =>'HKHI'
Regarding transactions... we'll add the portfolio average price & shares held features back in shortly... perhaps only in a couple of weeks.

I just joined too - this place looks excellent but can I change the MA numbers from the standard 50 100 200 etc to my own such as 400 or 180 etc ?
