Hi GM. Not sure I fully understand this. I get the principal of dividends and adjusted price/mkt-cap and I understand IG's adjustment to a/c's, but what does the table show.
For example last week 29th May the FTSE was adjusted by 2.51 - what does this mean?
Am i being thick?
Thanks
Kevin
if you trade the indices via a spread betting firm then they either deduct a dividend payment or add one depending on whether you go long or short. The table shows the amount of the dividend for the week. So for example, 2.51 is the FTSE dividend for that week. If you were long and had a 1 point bet on, they would add £2.51 to your account if you held it on the Wednesday at close of the FTSE at 4:30 pm. If short, they would deduct that. It varies from week to week depending on how many companies in the FTSE are paying dividends that week.
